The setting blends classic charm with contemporary flair, featuring chic red seating and plush textures for a relaxed yet refined feel. Once seated, our attentive and knowledgeable waiter brought warm bread with salted English butter while we sipped Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve Champagne. I opted for Crispy Tiger Prawns with zesty cocktail sauce for starters, perfectly balancing crunch and succulence. I chose a Sri Lankan Laksa Curry with chicken for my main, which was hearty and aromatic with a satisfying kick. Dessert was an Eton Mess Strawberry Summer Sundae, which was a light, fruity and indulgently sweet. Breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable with fresh fruit and juice to start, followed by irresistible pastries. The Final Verdict Overall, Marylebone Village is the perfect setting to savour magical moments in an intimate and unforgettable atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend this location for a mini-moon. Our first stop was picturesque Marylebone Lane, home to independent gems like VV Rouleaux’s elegant millinery, Mud Australia’s handmade porcelain, Tracey Neuls’ stylish footwear and O Pioneers’ Liberty print dresses. From there, we wandered to Marylebone High Street, enchanted by Daunt Books and tempted by Rococo Chocolates, where we picked up decadent truffles. We also browsed standout stores, including Derek Rose for luxurious loungewear and Bloobloom for sustainable eyewear. There really was a bit of everything! LUNCH AT ORRERY After working up an appetite shopping, we headed to Orrery, a beloved French restaurant under Chef Igor Tymchyshyn. The plush seating made it easy to settle with Champagne alongside warm bread and butter, followed by an amusebouche bursting with flavour. For starters, I chose the delicious Seafood Raviolo in a flavoured bisque, paired with a glass of Sa Raja Tarra Noa Vermentino di Gallura. Main was a seabass fillet cooked to perfection with a stuffed courgette flower, aubergine purée and fragrant cumin sauce, accompanied by a Domaine de la Motte Chablis 2023. No visit to Orrery would be complete without their awardwinning cheese trolley served with beetroot chutney, grapes and crisp crackers for an explosion of flavours and textures. Poached peaches with tangy yoghurt cream and refreshing peach sorbet were for dessert for a summery ending. Throughout our meal, the service was exceptional with warm, attentive and knowledgeable staff. WELLNESS AT REBASE Next stop was Rebase, which blends cultural wellness traditions with cutting-edge sports recovery technology. The team offers rejuvenating services tailored to individual needs, including hyperbaric oxygen chambers, saunas, contrast therapy, lymphatic drainage and more. We were lucky enough to enjoy a private infrared suite, designed for a wide range of health benefits. The sauna, maintained at 70 to 80°C, encourages a deep sweat, while its infrared waves promote detoxification, better sleep, immunity, pain relief and skin purification. Two ice baths, set at 10°C and 5°C, reduce inflammation, boost mood and improve circulation. The idea is to alternate between the sauna and ice baths to accelerate recovery. Thoughtful touches like drinks, face masks, a sound system, luxury robes and candles elevated the experience. As someone new to this therapy, it took a little getting used to, but I left feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and deeply relaxed. © Louis Waite HONEYMOONS 91
