The couple are real foodies and Joe loves to cook, so food was another crucial element of the day and one of the reasons they chose Combermere. “We wanted something indulgent and chose ham hock with a poached egg, steak and a tiro of desserts; just really yummy food!” Katie tells us. Pizzas were served in the evening to stave off any rumbling tummies as dancing got underway. String musicians played during the ceremony and cocktail hour creating a sophisticated, romantic air, before a live band and DJ took over in the evening. “We love music, and they were absolutely amazing,” Katie remembers. I feel like it paid off,” Katie says. “We ended up with a day that felt authentically us.” REAL WEDDINGS 25
