Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - July/August 2025 (Issue 82)

CREATIVE PALETTES 2025’s couples have been getting creative with their colour palettes using fresh new ideas to bring the wow factor. Be inspired by what’s going on in the world of interior design or fashion to get some ideas. Clashing hues are in – it shouldn’t work but it does! We love the juxtaposition of hot pink and vibrant orange for a bold approach that simply sings. Colour blocking is also a popular choice, choosing one colour and styling the space in varying hues of the same colour. Green has provided a mainstay for this trend, and given the myriad of gentle, fresh and bold tones it provides we can see why – it’s incredibly versatile. This also works to perfection when styling your bridesmaids. The Pantone Colour of the Year always inspires the wedding industry from 2023’s Viva Magenta to our favourite, 2024’s Peach Fuzz. This year Mocha Mousse was chosen. We won’t deny, it’s caused us to pause for thought, but with the passion for neutral tones when it comes to wedding styling, we think it fits in a treat! COSY CORNERS Not everyone is a dancefloor fiend, so why not create a relaxing corner away from the chaos where friends and family can kick back with a drink and catch up. Hey, it’s another excuse for some gorgeous styling, right? If your venue doesn’t have the furniture to naturally lend itself to this, such as blank canvas DIY space, there are plenty of local furniture or prop hire companies on hand to help. Hire in some lush sofas and armchairs that’ll make your guests smile with relief. For a vintage vibe, we love the idea of adding features such as a coffee table fashioned from old leather-look suitcases topped vintage-chic accessories. LAYERS OF TEXTURE We’re absolutely obsessed with textured tablescapes, as this technique can bring a theme to life. Here, we’re thinking the opposite to crisp white tablecloths with centrepieces, standard white crockery and glassware. Instead create layer upon layer of texture using a variety of materials such as ruched chiffon table runners in a colour from your palette, gold cutlery, perhaps gold rimmed, coloured or patterned crockery, and our favourite, coloured glassware. Clustered centrepieces work beautifully here with smaller floral arrangements, where the vessel may be a feature, and candles grouped together. Simply stunning! Place names can also play a part. Get creative and think about what materials you could use to add another textured element. What about slices of agate, pinecones, corks or wooden slices?
