Take two Having postponed most of their plans from 2020, Holly and Christian’s second big day was a huge celebration of love Images courtesy of Kevin Brown Photography H olly and Christian met in the oh-so modern way: via a dating app. Although coincidentally, it turned out that they had several friends in common. After a few dates it became quite clear that the pair were the perfect match and quickly became a huge part of one another’s lives. Christian devised the proposal that many of us dream of. He booked a surprise trip to Florence and popped the question in a rooftop bar overlooking the spectacular city. Well, of course Holly said “yes”! The couple were on the lookout for a local venue that would be convenient for their guests to get to, and scoured Liverpool for the perfect spot. As soon as they set foot inside The Isla Gladstone Conservatory, they knew it was the one . “We loved the huge open room with lots of light and outdoor space – ideal for a summer wedding,” Holly explains. The original wedding date was set for 7th August 2020, and although most of their plans had to be postponed due to Covid, the duo were so keen to become husband and wife that they decided to go ahead and tie the knot at Bethel Church with 20 guests. So, despite technically already being married when this new date, 23rd July 2021, rolled around, they opted to do it all again, ceremony included, so that all of their friends and family could share in the celebrations with them this time. Holly laughs as she remembers: “Pastor Rob gave us a great service both times and made everyone giggle when he asked whether anyone knew of any legal reason why we couldn’t get married he said, ‘You’re too late, you should’ve said last year.’” Read on as the bride tells us more about their even bigger big day, 23 rd July 2021...
