They knew each other as kids, grew up going to the same events and eventually socialised in the same circles as adults. It was only a matter of time before they got together. Fast-forward into their relationship, and Luke was planning the perfect way to pop the question. “I proposed after a safari holiday in Kenya with friends,” Luke says. “After landing at Heathrow, we journeyed back to Somerset where I had arranged a family meal at Kim’s parents’ dairy farm in Mark. After dinner with Kim’s mum, dad and grandad, we were sat around the table when I asked Kim to marry me.” After taking a moment to establish what Luke was asking, Kim gave a resounding “Yes!” When they started planning their day for 21 st August, 2020, the couple couldn’t have imagined the events that were about to unfold in the world. However, they adapted their plans and managed to host a wonderfully intimate wedding under government restrictions at Perry Farm, the bride’s family home.
