Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - October/November 2020 (Issue 79)

We ask the regions’ top beauty experts for their tips and must-have products Meet Jane Dare of Eye Do Makeup What are your top beauty tips? ❤ When applying perfume, press your wrists together, rather than rub, for longer lasting fragrance. ❤ To stop your eyeshadow creasing, use a base or pressed powder before applying the colour. ❤ For a soft but defined eye, use black liner on the top lids and brown on the bottom. ❤ For smudge-free eyeliner, draw a fine line with pencil first followed by a liquid liner. ❤ To create a fuller lip, use a dab of highlighter on the cupid’s bow and centre of the lip. What products can’t you live without? For weddings, you want a flawless base. My go-to products for this are Smashbox or Porefection primers, followed by Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation with a tinted moisturiser mixed in for radiance. Waterproof mascara and eyeliner are also must-haves along with setting spray. What’s the most common question you get asked by clients? I often get asked if their make-up will last all day, and the answer is “yes”, if you follow the rules! I recommend a great skincare routine before the day, and I offer quality products and techniques to ensure your look lasts. Don’t forget to pop your lippy in your bridesmaid’s bag ready for touch-ups to keep you looking amazing from the ceremony to party time. Nutrition is key; the more plant- based power you give your body, the better your skin will be. This means your make-up will look its best. What product can’t you live without? My favourite product is frankincense oil. I use the Doterra oil as it works wonders when used in moisturisers, serums and healing. I use mine daily for relaxation, skincare, haircare and bathing. It’s a powerful essential oil, so always use with caution and ask a professional aromatherapist for information. What’s the most common question you get asked by clients? Brides often ask how they can achieve a done-up look while still looking like themselves. My answer to this is that less is more. Start with the basics: hydration, nutrition and relaxation. Then on the day, use 100% organic, vegan, toxin-free make-up like Zao and you will look and feel your best. Visit www.thekindliving.co.uk Q&A www.dan ielstanderwick.co.uk 80
