H elen and Samy met via the online dating app Tinder when she was living in Runcorn and he was living in Liverpool. “On our first date, we bonded over a love of cheese - he bought me some cheese varieties instead of flowers,” Helen tells us. “I thought he was the funniest and most charming man I’d ever met.” Samy proposed to Helen on a beach in Goa on holiday in 2018. “It was supposed to happen on my birthday but he got too excited and asked me two days early!” Helen says. SETTING THE SCENE The couple originally booked their wedding to take place in Devon which is Samy’s home county but had to cancel it due to the pandemic. “We frequently enjoy dinner at The Olde Bell, a traditional coaching inn near where we live, and decided it would be special to get married there so we moved the celebration closer to home and booked The Tithe Barn on-site at the venue,” Helen tells us. “We ended up moving the date three times due to the restrictions that were “The day goes by so quickly so just take your time and take it all in.” – Helen and Samy MICRO WEDDING SPECIAL 39
