Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - Page number 36 - August/September 2021 (Issue 90)

The inside of the barn looked magical lit up with fairylights and draped with foliage. Our mouth-watering cake was a homemade Victoria sponge with icing on the top tier. It was decorated with fresh flowers and we also had small cupcakes in lilac and silver displayed on a stand. The fireplace looked magical filled with foliage an d styled with fairylights, candles and potted trees. I wanted English country garden flower varieties mixed with wildflowers so we chose a combination of ivory roses, scabious in shades of lavender, memory lane and spray ocean song roses, veronica, astrantia, astilbe, fresh lavender, mint and rosemary. They were all enhanced with different foliage including green bells grass and berried eucalyptus. The flowers in the bridesmaids’ posies consisted of gypsophila mixed with English lavender which looked so pretty. I made our table plan, place names and table numbers that were displayed on rustic wooden stands which added a personal touch. Our table centrepieces and top table display were v ases of fresh wildflowers that matched those in my bouquet. 36
