Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - February /March 2021 (Issue 87)

“Seeing Sophia for the first time in her wedding dress was a very memorable moment for me.” – Daniel LOOKING THE PART “I wore the dress called Giselle designed by Kelly Faetanini which was the complete opposite to what I thought I wanted but I saw it in the window of the bridal boutique and fell in love with it,” Sophia tells us. “It featured a simple silhouette but had a dramatic train and was decorated with beautiful beaded embroidery. It was feminine, romantic and also fun. I was the first ‘Kelly’ bride in the UK, which made the gown even more special! I wore a beautiful headpiece from Victoria Percival teamed with a pair of diamond stud earrings from my mum and step-dad, a beautiful Swarovski crystal bracelet from my maid-of-honour, Charlotte, and bridesmaid, Sian, and a stunning Tiffany & Co. necklace which was a gift from my husband-to-be on our wedding day.” Daniel wore a three-piece tailor-made dinner jacket with peak lapels designed and created by British tailor Graeme Healy from Healy & Son. “Graeme’s father was a tailor on Savile Row in London and specialised in military uniform, so his classic styling and attention-to-detail was exquisite and the suit was perfect,” Sophia explains. “He teamed it with a bow tie and his groomsmen also wore a three-piece dinner jacket and bow tie but with shawl lapels that were different to Daniel's. Our beautiful bridesmaids wore gorgeous long-sleeve maxi tulle dresses in taupe blush.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We hired a string quartet to play throughout our ceremony and drinks reception who were amazing,” Sophia explains. “They played a selection of modern pop and rock songs and I walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles and we both walked up the aisle (after the ceremony) to Happy by Pharrell Williams. During the evening, we had a live eight-piece band, The London Function Band, who were superb and our guests loved them! They were able to play any style of music that we asked for so everyone was up and dancing which was a highlight!” “Little did we know that it would be the last time that we would be together with our friends and family before the country went into lockdown – it was the last big party of the year.” – Sophia and Daniel REAL WEDDINGS 43
