Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - February /March 2021 (Issue 87)

REAL WEDDINGS 37  I accessorised my dress with my favourite sparkly heels, a veil, a hair clip which matched the silver appliqué on my dress and a pair of silver leaf stud earrings. I wore a dress called Lyra - I loved the romantic look of tulle A-line skirts and illusion necklines s o mine featured a floaty tulle skirt and intricately d etailed bodice and back, it was perfect! Our talented florist created some lovely bouquets and buttonholes and a pedestal arrangement for the church. The flowers were light pink to match our colour palette and boho summer theme. My sister also made us a Victoria sponge cake and decorated it with some fresh flowers from the florist. I live in a cul-de-sac, and my neighbours all clubbed together to give us an engraved cake knife with our names on it, which was very special. We decorated the church with fairylights displayed across the balcony, and ivy and fairylights wrapped around the pillars. We also had plenty of fresh flowers which added a lovely bohemian vibe. My bouquet was made extra-special by our florist adding ivy which was in my mum’s bouquet when she got married – my great-grandma planted the ivy in my parents’ garden after their wedding, and it’s still growing there today!
