barbecue buffet at lunchtime. “We had an ice cream van in the afternoon, along with a sweetie cart, and during the evening, we had bacon and sausage baps with chips,” Sam tells us. “Everybody loved our dessert table with our wedding cake and sweet treats.” Sam wore a gown by Pronovias. “I had tried on a few dresses from different shops, but I couldn’t find anything I loved,” she tells us. “I left it for a few months, then my friend took me to London. We visited Pronovias, where I loved the first dress I tried on because it was simple and elegant, which is what I wanted.” Nick wore black trousers with a white jacket and a yellow cravat, and the couple’s groomsmen wore tuxedos. “Our bridesmaids wore long black dresses in a style they all wanted,” Sam says. Sam and Nick hired a harpist to play during their ceremony and a bagpiper. “We also had a mariachi band performing during the afternoon, which our guests told us was a highlight of the day,” Sam says. “We wanted everybody to enjoy our wedding day, so we also had a magician, a children’s entertainer, a photo booth, a casino, a live band, and a DJ to entertain everyone.” REAL WEDDINGS 35
