Award-winning portrait and wedding photographer Wendy Aldiss, based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, has been a professional photographer for 25 years, starting in film and portraiture. She was awarded the Kodak Portrait Photographer of the Year UK in 2000 and has since won numerous accolades. She tells us, “My work has been predominantly weddings for 15 years, and I still absolutely love and breathe it!” When it comes to the style of wedding photography that Wendy offers, she describes it as a mix of artistic reportage with a touch of classical. “Fun definitely comes into it, too!” she adds. Wendy covers weddings in London and the home counties and will also travel further afield. “I always aim to capture weddings authentically with a bit of gentle direction when it’s needed,” she tells us. “With so many years of experience, I’m always happy to guide couples in their planning, which many find really helpful.” When asked what she loves most about her job, Wendy explains how photography is more than just taking pictures. “To be invited to capture a wedding is a real honour,” she says. “The importance of documenting such an important day from the heart with authenticity, creativity, and making it fun is what makes it the most rewarding job.” Wendy offers engagement shoots once a couple has booked their wedding photography with her. “It’s a good chance to get some beautiful images prior to the wedding as well as providing the chance to get to know each other,” she says. “I often do this at the chosen wedding venue so that we can check out areas that the happy couple likes, and discuss the wedding day plans.” wendyaldissportraitsandweddings.co.uk instagram.com/wendyaldissphotography Through the lens
