Hayley and Nick worked together for some time before Nick plucked up the courage to ask her out. “The attraction stemmed from being comfortable in each other’s company and we became best friends,” Hayley tells us. After 18 years together, Hayley told Nick that she wanted to get engaged on her 40th birthday so they went engagement ring shopping and the rest, as they say, is history! SETTING THE SCENE Hayley always wanted to get married at the Windsor Guildhall and knew that it was going to be a small intimate affair. “Rachel and her team at the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Windsor where we held our reception were all amazing,” Hayley says. “I was sold when I met Rachel, and she took me through everything that we could have.” The couple chose an elegant dusky pink colour theme to decorate their reception which included a delicious three-course wedding breakfast catered for by the talented team at the hotel, followed by a buffet during the evening. “As a blended family, we enjoyed this all seated at the same table which was made possible because we had a small, intimate wedding,” Hayley tells us. “I made the pretty table centrepieces and our table favours were personalised scratch cards.
