wooden guest place names; table names presented on purple stands; flowers for pressing and a mini cake in a box to take away as favours. Jeremy also designed the half-moon-shaped menu cards.” The couple chose colour-coordinated roses, lavender, hydrangeas, gypsophila and white summer flowers displayed in golden vases as their centrepieces which set their colour theme. “Our table plan, which was designed with wooden plaques displayed on a stand, and our rustic-inspired, three-tier cake stand were also decorated with roses and lavender sprigs and we hired a cocktail table to display our cake on that was decorated with an elegant champagne-coloured table cloth and handmade faux flower garland,” Jacqui says. The couple decided on a tailored three-course menu that their guests selected in advance. “We had chillies on the table for our Sri Lankan guests,” Jacqui tells us. We also had a wonderful archway of flowers and limewashed chivari chairs finished with a lilac bow. LOOKING THE PART Jacqui wore a champagne-coloured, full-length dress decorated with gold sequins. “I wanted a simple elegant gown and I teamed it with a pair of white gold diamond drop earrings; a diamond pendant on a white gold chain and a white gold and diamond bangle. The finishing touch was a pair of rose gold stiletto sandals decorated with rhinestones.” Jeremy wore a single-breasted suit with a floral buttonhole matching the colour theme. “I teamed it with a white shirt and a purple tie,” he tells us. Jacqui adds, “Our female bridal party looked stunning in lilac-coloured dresses.” TIME TO CELEBRATE The couple wanted a relaxed event with close family and friends. “If anything went wrong, we laughed!” they tell us. “After the blessing, there was a period with an open bar to socialise and take photos. We greeted and thanked everybody for attending.” The background music and the first dance were played by Jacqui and Jeremy’s good friends, Amanda and Magnus from All Star’s Salsa. “Between sets, Amanda and Magnus played Sri Lankan Baila music, salsa and other dancing tracks for everybody to enjoy,” the couple tell us. “After dinner, we had live music performed by musicians The New Classics in three 45-minute sets.” “The extra touches added by our florist made a big difference.” — Jacqui and Jeremy 45 REAL WEDDINGS
