Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 103)

Jacqui and Jeremy live in Dubai and work in the same office. “I was attracted to Jacqui’s caring nature and her energy,” Jeremy tells us. Jacqui adds, “I loved how patient he was.” Jeremy proposed on Jacqui’s birthday in 2022 which was a complete surprise. “One month earlier, I had been looking for rings and was thrilled when I found the perfect one, which prompted me to propose,” Jeremy says. The couple married in Las Vegas in December 2022 with four guests in attendance, and they wanted a celebration in the UK with their family and friends present. SETTING THE SCENE Jeremy was born in Slough and his late mother lived in Windsor until she passed in October 2021 so Rev. Kat Bracewell from Windsor Baptist Church, who was Jeremy’s mother’s minister was an obvious choice to conduct the couple’s blessing. “Having considered many venues in the area, Sir Christopher Wren hotel worked perfectly due to its size, flexibility and location,” Jacqui tells us. “Rev. Kat Bracewell gave a wonderful service in a private outdoor setting in the sunshine close to the river and I walked down a red carpet to greet Jeremy. It was a memorable moment seeing all of our plans come to fruition.” Jacqui and Jeremy decided on a lavender, lilac and champagne colour theme for their special day and Jacqui did most of the planning from Dubai. “We had lavendercoloured napkins topped with a sprig of lavender and roses that our loved ones helped us prepare on the morning of our wedding,” Jacqui says. “They also helped with the table placement set up which consisted of ivory table cloths; “My son, Kevin gave a toast and a beautiful speech which made us both cry.” — Jacqui 43 REAL WEDDINGS
