Elise and Jonny met at school when Jonny joined Elise’s sixth form. “We had mutual friends and Jonny invited me to go on a cinema date on Valentine’s Day,” Elise tells us. “He turned up with a dozen roses and after the movie, he invited himself into my parent’s house and made them a cup of tea! I loved his confidence and humour!” Jonny went to the University of Leicester so the couple enjoyed a long-distance relationship for four years. “He then moved into my family home and lived with us for almost three years while we saved for our own home,” Elise says. “We finally moved into our own place together in December 2019.” Jonny popped the question in September 2021 during a family holiday to Devon. “My loved ones were in on the surprise but I had no idea!” Elise says. “Jonny persuaded me to take our dog, Milo, out for a walk in the gardens where we were staying and he suddenly stopped in a private spot behind a tree and got down on one knee, asking me to marry him. I was in shock and asked him whether he was joking before naturally saying yes!” SETTING THE SCENE “Rackleys Chiltern Hills is a beautiful venue that combines modern and rustic touches,” Elise says. “We loved how bright the venue was, and its stunning grounds.
