Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - August/September 2023 (Issue 102)

Kirsty and Sean met via a Christian dating app called Salt and enjoyed their first date in Cheltenham. “Our shared faith first attracted us to one another,” Kirsty tells us. “I also liked Sean’s easygoing nature and lust for life, and he fell for my smile!” The couple became engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2022. “It was during a party arranged by our church members,” Kirsty says. “Sean led me outside where a gazebo was set up with candles, fairylights, rose petals and a card with a hand-written note asking me to be his wife. It was a wonderful, intimate proposal that still came as a bit of a surprise even though we had spoken about getting engaged. Sean had hinted that it would happen soon but I was still speechless when it did! We continued the celebrations back inside the New Year’s Eve party afterwards!” The couple chose St Mary’s Chipping Norton for their church ceremony followed by a community village hall for their reception. “It was a wonderful, affordable option in a beautiful location and we loved the fact that an indoor marquee was set up within the hall,” Kirsty says. SETTING THE SCENE The church was filled with pink, green and white flowers with floral arrangements placed at the pew ends and more flowers at the front of the church which set the couple’s chosen colour theme. “We had a stunning mix of roses, hyacinths, spray carnations, chrysanthemums, gypsophila, eucalyptus and asparagus fern which looked so pretty,” Kirsty tells us. “Our church ceremony was so special to the both of us because our faith is really important and a significant part of our relationship. Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Sean for the first time was such an incredible moment.” “Having our couple portraits taken in the forest was a special moment for us both. It gave us some private time, just the two of us, away from everybody else.” – Kirsty 31 REAL WEDDINGS
