An Essex Wedding - March/April 2022 (Issue 103)

“A crowd-surfing bride… it was definitely the sign of a good night! A lot of people wouldn’t have thought it would have been possible in my dress… but it was!” – Lucy I had a cathedral-length veil for the ceremony, and a Liberty In Love crystalembellished tiara – I truly felt like a princess. I accessorised with Swarovski earrings, necklace and bracelet. For my something borrowed, I wore my late grandmother’s diamond dress watch. For the evening, I wore an ivory-coloured, feather, bridal jacket from Liberty In Love and Dolce & Gabbana lace diamanté pumps which enabled me to dance the night away! Ricky wore a custom-made suit from Moss Bros. It was a navy tweed, with brass buttons and he wore a contrasting cream tweed jacket. The best man and both fathers wore the same but with a navy tweed jacket. I wore a Maggie Sottero satin gown which I purchased from Bellisima Weddings. I had dreamed of a princess gown and wanted a structured look, the gown itself was simple with diamanté beading across the waist and neckline. Even better, it had pockets! This was a perfect place to keep my late grandfather’s handkerchief with me. Both bridesmaids wore an orange-coloured Maggie Sottero satin gown. We enhanced the dress adding a diamanté beaded waistband. For the evening they each had fur wraps to keep them warm whilst watching the fireworks. Our flowergirl wore a dress from Monsoon and gold glittery Vans trainers. For the ceremony and welcome drinks we had a string quartet playing. For the arrival of the evening guests and our first dance we had a live band called Three Mile Hill which were amazing. They managed to sing our first dance song A Thousand Years for us outside in the courtyard so the rest of our guests could also join. We had fireworks and sparklers in the evening, followed by a hog roast and cheese course. We also had a photo booth with plenty of props to entertain guests. REAL WEDDINGS 47
